In Castle Morpeth District we have Scout Groups in Ponteland, Stannington, Morpeth, Pegswood and Widdrington.
We have around 600 young people involved in Scouting activities every week

Where are we? Castle Morpeth is a large rural Scouting District in Northumberland County. The area extends from Hadston and Chevington in the north-east corner, to Stannington at the south-east, Heddon-on-the-Wall in the south-west and Otterburn in the north-west. It includes the major towns of Morpeth and Ponteland.
Northumberland is blessed with some of most beautiful countryside and landscapes in the country with the Cheviot and Simonside Hills, unspoilt coastlines, Kielder Water, Castles, forests and wildlife: Just the place for ….. Everyday Adventures
How Big Are We? There are 7 Scout Groups in the District and on a weekly basis we deliver Scouting to over 600 young people aged 4-18, with the help of over 100 volunteer leaders and a team of administrative supporters.
How Does It Work? Scouting is delivered wholly by trained volunteers (Leaders, Assistants, Managers, Supporters, Administrators) although we do have the support of a national staff team employed by the Scout Association.
We learned something new this year. St George's Day is not always on 23rd April. So, our annual parade was a actually a few days early. Despite being during the school holidays there were still more than 100 young people and leaders in the parade. We were joined by civic leaders and guests at St James Church where Rev Canon Simon White led the service and camp fire songs. Thanks to MorpethNewsTV for the images
A collection was held at the end of the service to support both Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team and the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Many thanks to all who contributed. £150 was collected and £75 sent to each charity.
