Fun at the Fair

10 June 2014

What a Sunday!  Morpeth fair and Ponteland Party-in-the-Park were both last Sunday with a great Scouting presence at both events.

We took the opportunity to explain to parents the adventure and fun that modern Scouting can give young people and adults alike.

The effort also raised around £250 for the Safe Water Trust, which supplies water filter devices to provide clean drinking water in countries without water systems, and a significant sum for the Friends of Mandritsara Trust, funding an eye hospital in Madagascar  (see a separate post for more details of both charities).

“This was a day where Scouting publicly showed what it does best – providing fun and adventure for young people, but also working for the benefit of our local and global communities” commented District commissioner Clive Rich, “and a big thank you to all our young people, leaders and supporters for making it a successful day”.
